India Sterling Royal Antique Ornate Message Carrier A Treasure ** SUPER SALE**

I use to travel to India and was always looking for the usual Antique. I started collecting Rose Water Figural containers and these wonderfully ornate message carriers .
Here is my understanding of these ... When a Royal person wanted to send a message to another of the same class , he wold send a servant with a message inside a silver container. The receiver would  then reply and send the servant back with the answer.They were monogramed and on the old ones when they left the service of the Royal the place where the monogram was, was removed and a blank silver plaque was then put in it's place. You can not tell from the outside , but when you feel the area of the plaque you can tell it was replaced.
They are incredibly ornate with the best of silver filigree work. They as you can see come apart on one end so you can insert the message. A while ago after India I was wandering the Grand Bazaar in Turkey and they had some and they made them into holders from Jewish Scrolls (Mezzuzahs) . I knew the original origin of these but they looked great. They are also great to hold a Katuba which is a marriage contract that both Jews and Muslims have in their religion.
This message carrier weighs 213 grams and is almost 12 inches long. It would be a great present for a couple if looking for the most unusual wedding gift . It would also be a thing to treasure for a lifetime.
Can you imagine sending someone special a note on an important holiday. A friend had one and when his anniversary was to be he bought a glorious vacation for himself and his wife. He put the documents in one of these .
You don't find these easily .
