OVERVIEW
Equipped with premium monocrystalline solar cells, the Renogy 5W Solar Battery Charger and Maintainer manages your 12V lead-acid battery in daylight conditions by converting the sunlight into usable electricity and maintaining a healthy state of charge. The built-in MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) charge controller intelligently manages the charging process and improves the charging efficiency by 10%-20%. The plug-and-play SAE connecter and included adapter cables make the solar battery charger maintainer a versatile fit for most applications.

For some makes or models of vehicles, the cigarette lighter port may not operate when the ignition is turned off. In such cases, please connect the solar battery charger maintainer to the battery directly.

Connecting Directly to the Battery
Check the polarity of the battery terminals. The positive (POS, P, +) terminal usually has a larger diameter than the negative (NEG, N, -) terminal.
Connect the included SAE to Ring Terminal Cable or SAE to Alligator Clip Cable to the battery.
Place the solar battery charger maintainer as far away from the battery as the adapter cables permit. DO NOT place it directly above the battery.
The solar battery charger maintainer MUST be disconnected from the battery or cigarette lighter port when starting the engine or driving the vehicle. Electric surges from the alternator when starting and running may damage the solar battery charger maintainer.
If the battery is installed in the vehicle, the vehicle ground type must be identified. For a negative-grounded vehicle, first connect the positive (red) alligator clip or ring terminal to the positive (POS, P, +) terminal of the battery, and then connect the negative (black) alligator clip or ring terminal to the vehicle chassis or engine block away from the battery. For a positive-ground vehicle, first connect the negative (black) alligator clip or ring terminal to the negative (NEG, N, -) terminal of the battery, and then connect the positive (red) clip to the vehicle chassis or engine block away from the battery.
The solar battery charger maintainer is designed to compensate for the battery self-discharge. Please do not rely on it for a full charge.
If the battery is outside the vehicle, a 24 inch (610mm) 6 AWG (13 mm2) insulated battery cable must be first connected to the negative (NEG, N, -) battery terminal. Then connect the positive (red) alligator clip or ring terminal to the positive (POS, P, +) terminal of the battery and connect the negative (black) alligator clip or ring terminal to the free end of the battery cable away from the battery.
Connect the SAE to Ring Terminal Cable or SAE to Alligator Clip Cable to the solar battery charger maintainer.
Place the solar battery charger maintainer, facing due south (or north), in the path of the sun. Make sure that no shadows are cast on the solar battery charger maintainer.

Renogy offers a variety of shipping methods as listed below as well as free ground shipping on many of our products. Any items that qualify for free shipping will be identified on the product listing page. Shipping times are based on
business days (Monday to Friday) excluding Holidays and weekends
. Depending on your order, your purchase may arrive in multiple packages. For orders with a value of 0 or more, a signature may be required.
Please note:
Not all items are eligible for Two Day or One Day shipping due to size, weight, hazardous materials, and delivery address.
Shipments cannot be rerouted once a package has been shipped.
Any orders in need of replacements due to shipping errors or damages in shipment will be sent out via ground shipping. Replacement orders cannot be expedited.
RETURN POLICY
At Renogy, we work hard to ensure a positive shopping experience with us. For purchases made directly from our online store, if for any reason you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, you may return your products
with original package within 30 days
as long as they are new, undamaged, and unmodified. We cannot guarantee that your item will be accepted for a refund or exchange if it does not meet these requirements. Return requests outside of 30 days require special authorization.

REPLACEMENT POLICY
If you have received a defective product or one damaged during shipping, you are eligible for a refund or replacement.
